CBAA opens entries for its 2019 community broadcasting awards

The Community Broadcasting Association of Australia has opened entries for its 2019 awards to be held on 26 October in Melbourne.

The announcement:

Entries now open for 2019 CBAA Community Radio Awards

Community radio’s national awards are open for entries, giving broadcasters the opportunity to receive recognition across 30+ categories in 2019.

The CBAA’s Chief Executive Officer Jon Bisset says the CBAA Community Radio Awards offer an inspiring snapshot of the achievements of stations with programs, initiatives or practices that have increased their capability and improved the services offered to their communities.

“It’s been an exciting year for our sector, with the highest levels of national community radio listenership on record. This is a credit to the dedication and hard work of the hundreds of stations around the country and the 25,000+ volunteers who power them. These Awards are an opportunity to celebrate and recognise their achievements, and how community radio stations are making important contributions to media diversity and local content, supporting Australian music and providing opportunities for participation in free-to-air broadcasting.”

Entries for the awards are open to CBAA member stations and their representatives until Wednesday, 29 May 2019.
