Channel Factory launches in Aus with TikTok and Zenith talent

Global brand suitability platform and YouTube measurement programme partner, Channel Factory, has launched in Australia with former TikTok head of product marketing, Kevin Wong, as vice president of Asia-Pacific.

Channel Factory focuses on maximising brand suitability, turning YouTube’s five billion videos and 500 hours per minute of new content into advertising opportunities.

Based in Australia, Wong will work alongside managing director Alex Littlejohn, who joined in August, based in Singapore to spearhead the growth of Channel Factory in Asia-Pacific.

Littlejohn was previously president International for Adconion Media Group where he was responsible for a team across  eight European and four APAC markets. Following Adconion’s acquisition by Singte, he held the position of senior vice president APAC for Amobee.

Commenting on his appointment, Wong said: “I’m thrilled to join this stellar team of accomplished individuals with a mission to build a better digital advertising ecosystem. We will achieve this by connecting brands with the right consumers in the right context; content that incorporates a brand’s definition of what is and is not suitable for that brand to be running adjacent to.

“Currently, there is a disconnect between the level of investments brands are making in user-generated content platforms, and the level of contextual targeting of audiences. Our goal for Channel Factory is to eliminate this reputational risk whilst maintaining the ROI of their campaigns across YouTube today and all platforms in the future.”

Littlejohn added: “Brand suitability is the metric that marketers need to work towards, in making sure they maximise their return on ad spend. Our expansion to Australia is a step further in our mission to enable CMOs to consciously connect with consumers.”

Wong will also be responsible for leading operations, product strategy, development, and driving sales growth.

Along with Wong, Channel Factory has made a number of hires, including Zenith’s Rhys Bennett as sales solution director.
