Chaser’s Craig Reucassel to front Balls Of Steel Australia

The Comedy Channel has signed up Chaser member Craig Reucassel to present its stunts-and-ambush show Balls Of Steel.

The British version of the show become notorious after squirting Tom Cruise in the face with a water from a fake microphone.

Last month when Mumbrella talked to Foxtel executive director Brian Walsh he said: “We want it to be unpredictable, we want it to push to the edge. We want the energy of Balls of Steel UK in the Australian version”:

The 10-part Australian version of Balls Of Steel will be filmed  in Sydney and Melbourne next month.

The show is being produced by Southern Star Entertainment’s director of programmes Courtney Gibson, who previously worked with Reucassel in his Chaser guise when she was the ABC’s executive head of content creation.

Reucassel will be joined in each episode by four or five guest comedians who will talk through the antics they have performed that week before the audience is shown a recording of their stunts. Reucassel said: “Having other people making fools of themselves will be a great change.”

The channel said it was “currently testing other talent” to join the cast.
