The Chaser’s Election Desk sheds viewers on second episode
The Chaser’s Election Desk shed 92,000 metro viewers on its second outing at 9:00pm last night, posting a metro audience of 691,000, down on last week’s audience of 783,000.
It was out-rated by Ten’s Shark Tank, which pulled in 700,000 metro viewers from 8:40pm to be the second most-watched program across the key advertising demographics (16-39, 18-49 and 25-54).
Ten’s Masterchef was the most-watched show across the key demographics after it grabbed 1.062m metro viewers at 7:30pm.
It easily out-rated Nine’s 60 Minutes special which had a metro audience of 677,000. Both shows beat Seven’s Highway Patrol, which was watched by 625,000.
Nine managed to win the night with an audience share of 17.6%, ahead of Seven’s share of 17.2%,while Ten claimed third place with a share of 16.9%. The ABC achieved a share of 13.1%.
In the news battlefront, Seven News at 6:00pm was watched by 1.077m, sliding to 1.02m from 6:30pm. Nine News posted a 6:00pm audience of 1.053m, growing to 1.054m from 6:30pm.
The long election desk is cute idea for the promo, but just doesn’t seem to work with the material. I think The Weekly would do a better job on this election.

This is kind of meaningless considering so many people stream ABC / iView – compared to other Australian streaming services. Factoring this in, the election desk no doubt blew all the others out of the water. #Dumbrella
