Christmas not just for humans, says latest Aus Post campaign

Christmas is for more than just the people, notes Australia Post in its holiday campaign, after a destroyed tree leads a girl to buy the local cockatoo, Major, its own edible ornaments.

The campaign continues the ‘Spread the Merry’ platform Australia Post introduced for Christmas in 2019, and maintains the theme of sharing the festive spirit with those around us.

Australia Post chief marketing officer, Amber Collins, described the campaign as ‘uniquely Australian’.

“This year, we are telling the story of a uniquely Australian Christmas and encouraging everyone to create some festive joy,” she said.

“Following a tough year, this Christmas will be more significant than ever as we reconnect with friends and family who we won’t have seen as much as we would’ve liked.

“The campaign demonstrates how Australia Post makes it easier to connect with people this Christmas.”

Created by The Monkeys the campaign is launching with the 60 second film that was directed by Glendyn Ivin, and a 30 second cut-down. The creative will appear on broadcast TV, and will be supported by radio, social, digital, press and in-store with retail merchandise.

The Monkeys chief creative officer, Ant Keogh, said: “It’s a modern Australian Christmas story, told through the eyes of an inventive young girl, whose kindness helps a recalcitrant bird to find his place in the world.”
