Claudia Sagripanti to head Publishers Australia

claudia sagripantiMagazine industry body Publishers Australia has appointed mobile marketing specialist Claudia Sagripanti as its new CEO.

Most recently Sagripanti has been running digital training events through her consultancy Venture One. Until earlier this year she was director of mobile with WPP’s Group M.

She starts the new role next week.

Her appointment follows this month’s announcement of an alliance between PA and Magazine Publishers of Australia, which represents Australia’s larger magazine players.

Sagripanti said: “I am looking forward to working with a very active Board and support team to continue to deliver a broader range of benefits and services for members.”

Before working for Group M, Sagripanti spent six months with startup Xip Mobile. Before that she sent seven months with events company IQPC. She also worked in event roles at the Australian Direct Marketing Association and conference company Terrapinn.

PA Chairman, Geoff Hird commented, “We were impressed with the calibre of applicants, and we are very much looking forward to Claudia taking on the CEO role. We believe she has the right mix of experience, and an enthusiasm for the industry that will help drive Publishers Australia and the profile of magazines and digital media to a new level.”

According to PA, Sagripanti’s priorities will be “an initial focus on membership development, the new alliance with the MPA and further developing plans for Australian Magazine Week”.
