Clemenger BBDO Melbourne hires planning director Leigh Arbon

Clemenger BBDO Melbourne has hired Leigh Arbon as planning director.

Arbon has spent the past eight years at TBWA. He has worked in the agency’s Melbourne and New York offices and is returning to Australia from Singapore where he was head of digital and content.

Arbon’s focus at Clemenger BBDO Melbourne will be communications planning and customer experience.

Arbon said: “I count myself lucky to be joining a world-class team. I’m one week-in, working remotely and it’s already clear to me why Clemenger BBDO Melbourne has been so great for so long.”

Jacqueline Witts, who joined the agency as head of planning in June, said Arbon brings valuable digital experience to the team.

Alongside Witts and Arbon, Clemenger BBDO Melbourne has made a number of recent hires. Leo Burnett’s Daniel Pizzato joined as creative director last month. In June, Dave Keating was hired as the new chief operating officer, taking over from Ben Kidney.

The hires also follow a change in the agency’s leadership. In March, Jim Gall took over as CEO from Gayle While, who held the role for seven months. That same month, chief creative officer Stephen de Wolf departed to take up the same role at BBH in London.

Clemenger BBDO Melbourne’s clients include Mars, Seek, Tabcorp and Victoria’s Transport Accident Commission (TAC).
