Clemenger BBDO Sydney’s head of planning Kit Lansdell exits to join The Monkeys

Clemenger BBDO Sydney’s head of planning, Kit Lansdell, has departed the agency after two years in the role to join The Monkeys as its business strategy director.

A spokesperson from Clemenger BBDO Sydney, told Mumbrella: “Kit spent five-and-a-half years at Clemenger and was promoted to head of planning in 2015, but decided on a change and took an opportunity to work with The Monkeys.

“Clemenger thanks Kit for his years at the agency and wish him every success in his new ventures.”

Accenture purchased The Monkeys and Maud in May, in a deal which was later revealed to be worth $63m.

Lansdell departed the agency to work with Accenture

Lansdell joined the creative agency in 2012 to head up the strategic planning for all brands within the Mars portfolio including MasterFoods, Whiskas, Kan Tong, Skittles, Dolmio and Dine.

In 2015, Lansdell was promoted to the head of planning to replace Matt Walters who returned to the UK in 2015.

In his role as the head of planning Lansdell lead a department of eight planners and was responsible for leading strategic planning across the Mars Food, Petcare, Wrigley Pacific and Smitch’s Snackfoods accounts.

Clemenger BBDO Sydney have not yet announced a replacement for Lansdell.

In October, Clemenger BBDO Sydney’s CEO, Andy Pontin, announced his resignation after 12 years at the agency.

While in Melbourne, the agency has also seen its chief creative officer Ant Keogh depart to join The Monkeys Melbourne in the same role.

Clemenger BBDO Melbourne also announced a new leadership team with Gayle While as deputy CEO and Simon Lamplough as managing director following Paul McMillan and Michael Derepas’ departures to join The Monkeys Melbourne.

At the start of the year, the agency also lost its executive planning director, Al Crawford.

Lansdell had not responded to Mumbrella at the time of publishing.

The Monkeys confirmed Lansdell’s appointment but did not have a formal comment to make.
