Clemenger parts ways with Chrylser

The ad voted turkey of the year by Mumbrella readers last week will be among the last work Clemenger BBDO Melbourne does for Chrysler as the agency and client have split.

The end of the relationship follows a global review of the business which recently saw Chrysler in the US part ways with BBDO Worldwide in favour of Fallon. It is believed that the car maker plans to review its ad account on a market-by-market basis.

Last week, Clemenger’s Chrylser Jeep TV spot, Spring Break was named turkey of the year at the Mumbrella Readers Choice Awards.

Peter Biggs, Clemenger BBDO Melbourne MD, said: “We have had a great working relationship with Chrysler Australia for a number of years, and we are really proud of the work we have done for them – particularly in the last 12 months.

“The car market has been through some of its darkest days recently but Clemenger BBDO Melbourne’s distinctive work has contributed significantly to Chrysler Australia’s strong 2009 results, despite the current economic environment.”

Clemenger has held the Chrysler account in Australia since 2001 when BBDO Worldwide was awarded the global account.
