Cleo’s Sarah Oakes to edit Fairfax’s Sunday Life

CleoSarah Oakes Fairfax Sunday Life MUmbrella editor Sarah Oakes is leaving ACP to become editor of Fairfax’s Sunday Life magazine which is inserted in The Sunday Age and Sun-Herald.

She will join the title next month on an initial 12 month maternity cover contract for Michelle Hurley who became editor last year after the sudden departure of Alison Boleyn.  

Oakes was editor of Cleo for more than two years and was also editor of Pacific Magazines’ Girlfriend and launch editor of Total Girl

Fairfax Magazines Chief Executive Lisa Hudson, said: “I’m delighted to announce Sarah’s appointment. She brings to the role of editor of Sunday Life a wealth of experience in magazines, having won numerous awards in the industry.

“As well as her editorial experience, Sarah is a polished presenter and brand ambassador with experience in the strategic, marketing and promotional aspects of magazine publishing.”

Update: Gemma Crisp has been named as the new editor of Cleo.
