CNET and Yahoo7 team up for cobranded technology site

Technology site CNET is linking up with Yahoo!7 in a deal which will see the creation of a new co-branded Yahoo!7 CNET Technology site.

CNET will provide the content for the deal while Yahoo!7 will deliver a greater consumer reach.

CNET’s owner CBS Interactive will also be able to sell ad inventory on the channel, while Yahoo!7 will be allocated advertising inventory on CNET Australia.

The technology content will include photography, digital home, tech on-the-go and games. Content will showcase a range of features across these categories including photo-galleries, videos, buying guides and reviews housed within the CNET branded channel.

The partnership is the latest alliance struck by CBS Interactive.

Last year it created the job site IT Jobs in a partnership with Fairfax Digital Media.

And CBS also syndicates some of its content from Gamespot to retailer Game.

The site will go live late next month at www.yahoo7.com.au/cnet.
