COD and Pizza Hut: Now delivering direct to your parents’ basement

Pizza Hut and Call of Duty have given their massive cross-section of gaming and pizza fans the opportunity to order their next meal direct to the comfort of their parents’ basement.

Dr Mumbo isn’t much of a gamer, but let’s imagine for a second that Mumbo manor has a gaming cave, then the ability to order a pizza without having to take your headset off would be heading up the right alley.

And that is exactly what VMLY&R have done, by allowing gamers to “track down the Pizza Hut delivery people in the Al Mazerah map” on COD to win a free pizza instantly.

Dr Mumbo wonders if you have to just find them, or if gamers are forced into virtually drawing blood from their beloved delivery person?

“It’s hard to stay relevant in gaming but for Pizza Hut to capitalise on the new proximity chat function in Call of Duty just days after launch is a real win. As a COD veteran, I know that if you’re going to get rekt [taken down], you may as well do it with a free Pepperoni Lovers,” said group ECD at the agency, Jake Barrow.

How far are gamers willing to go?
