Leos make local contribution to Coke peace project

Leo Burnett Sydney has collaborated on an international project for Coca-Cola which saw two video linked vending machines set up in the bitter rivals of Pakistan and India.

Each of the Coca-Cola Small World Machines has a live webcam and an interactive touchscreen which are linked. Members of the public are encouraged to dance, link hands or wave to people who are at the machine’s counterpart.

The project is the first in a series, each which will try and link conflicted countries.

Coke has set up several “interactive” vending machines in the past year, including a “Hug Me Machine,” in Singapore in April and a Korean “Coke Dance” in September.

Andy DiLallo, chief creative officer at Leo Burnett Sydney said in a statment: “After spending a year on this project with all the challenges we encountered, when Small World Machines started it was massive relief for me. And then joy, and then just awe to see the people connecting.”
