Kia Australia has launched a series of TV commercials for the Kia Rondo featuring “smart solutions” presented by Aussie comedian and radio presenter Claire Hooper.
Presenting the ad from behind “Another Rondo Smart Solution” counter, Hooper presents seven tips for cooking, beach-going and home organising.
The ads follow a series of ads created for the Kia Cerato about life’s ‘uncomfortable moments’ by Kia Australia’screative agency Innocean are linked to a competition whereby viewers can win a car by submitting their own smart solutions.
In the first ad Hooper separates an egg yolk from the white by sucking it up with a plastic bottle.
“So we’ve landed on the moon but still haven’t found a way to separate the egg yolk from the egg white cleanly until now,” she says as she successfully separates the egg. “Look who’s smart as an astronaut,” she says, presenting “another smart solution from the Kia Rondo”.
Four more ads for Kia Rondo ‘smart solutions’, Hooper shows how you can label cables with bread clips, vacuum up a beaded necklace broken on a shag pile carpet with the aid of a stocking, and how you can use nailpolish to colour-code your keys.
A 15 second ad shows how you can play music on your phone and put it in a bowl to create a stereo effect, and two more 30 second ads present solutions a ‘smart beaching’ solution for your valuables, and another shows how to quickly make a cake by mixing the ingredients in a cup and cooking it in the microwave.
Hooper previously presented the breakfast show on Sydney’s MixFM with Tim Ross but departed at the end of 2012.
