Real life ‘uncomfortable moments’ for Kia Cerato
Innocean has taken its Kia Cerato campaign from the studio into real life by staging stunts in a stadium and a park to bring its ‘uncomfortable moments’ catchphrase to life.
Two stunts featuring a young man – presumably an actor – caught picking his nose on the big screen at an AFL game and an acoustic guitar player who seranades strangers in the park have been added to the Kia Australia YouTube channel.
In ‘Kia Pick of the Day’ filmed at the Essendon and Greater Western Sydney game on May 4, a man is caught on camera digging his finger into his nostril and is shown on the big screen for several seconds before he notices that 30,000 people are watching him. As he realises the whole stadium is laughing at him, the text, “He wouldn’t feel so uncomfortable in the all new Cerato”, runs across the screen, followed by, “So many features, there’s never an uncomfortable moment.”
In the second real-life uncomfortable moments video, a man wanders from person to person in Sydney’s Hyde Park and sits uncomfortably close to seranade them with his guitar. A business man eating his lunch gets up and walks away, another ignores him, while some of the others laugh awkwardly.
At the end of the video he gives each of them a business card that reads: “Feeling a little uncomfortable? Experience the new Cerato, so many features there’s never an uncomfortable moment.”
The new campaign for Kia Cerato was rolled out last month, with a series of TV commercials about life’s ‘uncomfortable moments’. In the ads a man wrongly mistakes a female friend as being pregnant, a marriage proposal is met with a break-up, and a romantic date is interrupted by a call from another girl.
