Commonwealth Games gives Seven a Wednesday night win with 1.199m viewers

Seven’s Commonwealth Games coverage saw 1.199m metro viewers tune in last night, giving the network an easy Wednesday night ratings win.

According to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary metro ratings, the evening session of the Commonwealth Games saw 1.158m metro viewers tune in.

Across the Seven network the evening session of the Commonwealth Games saw the final of the mens one meter springboard diving event, where Australian James Connor took home the silver medal.

Meanwhile, Ten’s Bachelor in Paradise managed 736,000 metro viewers as it aired at 7.30pm, while Nine’s airing of the movie Spectre attracted 389,000 metro viewers.

In the 6pm news battle, Seven scored 1.040m metro viewers, compared to Nine News’ 899,000.

With the help of the Commonwealth Games, Seven won the night with a 31.5% overall audience share, beating Nine’s 17.4%, Ten’s 12.3%, ABC’s 9.5% and SBS’ 2.8% share.
