Comms Council calls for agencies

The Communications Council is calling for agencies to sign up to its inter-agency softball competition held early next year.

Thea announcement:

The Communications Council is calling on all agencies to join in for its 2011 inter-agency softball competition.

Taking place at Sydney’s Centennial Park, teams from all marketing communications agencies are invited to make a play for the industry’s ‘best team’ title.

“The competition is an initiative by our New South Wales committee wanting to bring our industry together in a social context. Everyone is welcome, from trainees through to senior management, with no experience needed” said Daniel Leesong, CEO of the Communications Council. “We’re providing the field so we hope to see many of Sydney’s agencies there.”

“There is nothing like a bit of healthy competition to get an agency’s blood pumping… With the softball league we have the chance to get out amongst it and hopefully not cause any injuries,” said Sudeep Gohil, Chair of The Communications Council NSW Committee.“This is a great opportunity to build a stronger sense of community amongst agencies across Sydney and have a bit of fun along the way.”

Starting on Tuesday the 25th of January 2011 at Robertson Road fields in Centennial Park, the competition will finish on the 8th of March 2011 with a one week break on the 22nd February for The Communications Council’s ‘Circus’ festival.

There are two timeslots an evening; at 6.00pm and 6.40pm.

Entry in the competition is $330 dollars per team (up to eight people) which will include the provision of softball equipment. Agencies are encouraged to get creative with their team names and outfits, but matching shirts are required.

A maximum of eight teams can take part in the competition.
