Red Agency tops CommsCon Awards shortlist, Tim ‘Rosso’ Ross revealed as host for awards night

Havas Worldwide’s Red Agency has topped Mumbrella’s CommsCon Awards shortlist, with nine short-listings across the award’s 27 categories.

Announced today, the shortlist recognises the best campaigns, businesses and individuals in public relations and the communications industry.

TBWA-aligned agencies Eleven and FleishmanHillard picked up eight short-listings

Red Agency will look to retain its title of CommsCon’s Large PR Agency of the Year, competing for the crown against One Green Bean, N2N Communications, FleishmanHillard and WE Buchan.

Amongst the Midsize PR Agency of the contenders are Sling & Stone, History Will Be Kind, Forward Agency and Magnum & Co.

Four agencies, including The Cru, CampaignLab, Hunter Communications and Bench PR, will compete to be named Boutique or Small PR Agency of the Year.

In the people categories, Weber Shandwick’s Ava Lawler will defend her PR Leader of the Year title against The Herd Agency’s Vanessa Liell, Text100’s Karen Coleman and Red Agency’s Jackie Crossman.

Meanwhile the Best New PR Talent of the Year award will be fought out amongst Weber Shandwick’s Sophie Mac Cue, Filtered Media’s Ghadeer El-Khub and Sling & Stone’s Tahlia Davies.

The awards will be presented on the evening of Thursday March 30, 2017, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney.

The night will be hosted by comedian Tim ‘Rosso’ Ross who has previously also hosted The Mumbrella Awards.

Ross is best known for his stand-up comedy and his work in radio – he has the rare distinction of hosting both a number one drive show and breakfast show in Sydney.

He also has a long-standing passion for architecture and design and over the Past four years Ross has performed his live Man About the House show exclusively in architecturally-significant buildings and homes that he turns into temporary theatres.
