Community managers masterclass expanded

Mumbrella’s online community managers masterclass – to take place in a fortnight’s time – has been moved to a bigger facility after the initial 80 people capacity today sold out.

The new capacity for the session, which takes place in Sydney on the afternoon of Thursday August 4, is 130 people.

The role of community manager is a relatively new one. The session is aimed at those working directly for brands or at agencies that moderate online communities.

Moderated by Kim McKay of Klick Communications, speakers include Nicola Swankie, content and social director at The Conscience Organisation.

Swankie will be speaking on how to begin connecting with consumers and the best platforms to use. Among the services examined will be the new Google+, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and WordPress. She will also offer successful examples and examine the measurements that should be put in place to measure a brand’s success when building a community.

Klick’s Dan Azzopardi will discuss pitfalls to avoid in building a conversation.

And Jye Smith, digital strategist at Weber Shandwick, will speak on social media’s effect on good SEO.

Tickets are $199.

Meanwhile, following the demand for the Sydney event, Mumbrella is currently organising a Melbourne session, pencilled in for the afternoon of Tuesday September 6. To be alerted when more details are available, please email denise@focalattractions.com.au .
