Concrete Playground, Intrepid Travel and TRAVLR among launch lineup for Mumbrella Travel Marketing Summit

Mumbrella’s Travel Marketing Summit program has been announced, featuring speakers including Expedia Group, Klook, Concrete Playground, TRAVLR, and Tourism Australia. The Summit will take place on 27 October at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney.

A panel led by Simon te Hennepe, CEO and founder of online platform TRAVLR, will discuss how an exciting new era for travel comes with a whole new world of customer demands. Concrete Playground’s CEO Rich Fogarty will join the panel on the ‘travellers of tomorrow’ alongside managing director at Gate 7 Jo Palmer and executive at TRAVLR Michelle Guthrie.

In addition, general manager at Klook Oceania and Indonesia, Henry Hooper, will discuss how to get ahead in the ‘new normal’ for travel, delivering insights from exclusive research on the pandemic its impact on the industry.

Meanwhile, Expedia Group Media Solution’s, Michael Brennan, will assess the growing influence of sustainability and the rise of the ‘mindful traveller’ with exclusive research on emerging industry trends.

Also confirmed is a panel of senior industry experts including CEO of Australian Tourism data warehouse, Jan Hutton, CEO of Tourism NZ, Rene de Monchy and CEO of Destination Gold Coast, Patricia O’Callagahan.

Lauren Quaintance

The panel led by former GM of Travel for Fairfax Media (now Nine) and co-founder of travel marketing agency Storyation, Lauren Quaintance, will discuss the future of destination marketing organisations in a changing landscape and explore some of the ways that DMOs can adapt to meet the needs of travellers and their destinations in the move towards a more ethical future for the industry.

In addition, Intrepid Travel’s Leigh Barnes will moderate a panel on the power of First Nations Storytelling featuring CEO of Welcome to Country, Desmond Campbell among others. They will discuss the value of First Nations tourism experiences and the work that still needs to be done to amplify their voices in travel marketing and celebrate those already championing their representation in the industry.
