Content agency Louder Than Words goes into liquidation

Another Australian content agency has gone into administration with Louder Than Words shutting its doors after a series of expected projects fell through.

ltwThe agency, which promoted itself as offering “creative and affordable video production that gets results” closed its doors a week ago and is now going into liquidation.

Managing director, Andrew McLean, said that the agency had struggled after a series of expected projects had failed to go ahead.

“We were looking good and a lot of things got put on the back-burner and we realised it wasn’t going to get any better,” McLean said.

“We were pushing very hard to succeed at the end of it, right through to the end, but unfortunately couldn’t pull it off.”

The company was placed into liquidation on November 3.

Louder Than Words worked on a wide variety of content including corporate videos and ads, with clients including Oracle, ITP and The Asthma Foundation.

Ads the agency had worked on included a 45th anniversary ad for ITP and an ad for Sir Walter Lawns, featuring a talking sausage.

By the time the agency was placed into liquidation it had reduced to just one full-time employee.

“For the last year of so our model was more expanding and contracting as necessary, using different talent throughout Sydney,” McLean said.

“I’m not sure what happened with the business climate, but just a lot of projects fell through.”

Co-founder of the agency, Jonathan Packard, stepped down from the role of managing director in May to work directly with the agency’s range of clients as a consultant and said despite the closure the agency had been a success.

“We have been going 14 years and seen a lot of production companies come and go,” Packard told Mumbrella.

“We just got to the point where the cashflow wasn’t working and we couldn’t continue.”

“For the industry it is an interesting time.”

The liquidation is being handled by Hogan Sprowles, which has not returned Mumbrella’s requests for comment.
