Cops LAC hits new low of 645,000

Cops LACNine’s Cops LAC delivered the network one of its lowest 8.30pm weekday audiences of the year with just 645,000 metro viewers on Thursday night.

It was beaten by Ten’s Commonwealth Games coverage (averaging 804,000) and Seven’s Criminal Minds (757,000), according to preliminary overnight ratings from OzTam.

Cops LAC’s previous low was last week when it rated 712,000.

The timeslot also saw a rare victory for SBS1 over ABC1. The Supersizers Go Eighties rated 365,000 to Aboriginal art documentary Art + Soul which rated 265,000.

Not a single show after 7pm last night rated above 1m. Apart from the games (which was also simulcast on One), Nine’s Two And A Half Men was the best performer, although that only rated 803.000.

Network Ten’s best Commonwealth Games performance came with a combined audience of 1.32 million viewers across One and Ten watching Alicia Coutts receive her gold medal for the 100m butterfly.

The simulcast also delivered One its biggest audience share to date.
