Cops LAC: Meandering and cliched or pacy and intelligent?
Fair to say that Sydney’s TV critics do not entirely agree about Nine’s new crime drama Cops LAC, which begins on Thursday.
The Sunday Telegraph’s Richard Clune describes it as “a meandering cliched concept replete with woeful scripting and and some terrible acting.” He adds: “Martin Dingle-Wall does a stern impression of a tree – planted and wooden – as the supposed male lothario.”
However, you’d think that the Sun-Herald’s (unbylined reviewer) watched a different show altogether, telling readers: “COPS: LAC quickly shows itself to be the intelligent, pacy police drama we’ve been missing.” It adds: “Martin Dingle-Wall and Kate Ritchie shine as the two main detectives.”
However, the Sun-Herald does contradict itself slightly when you get to Thursday’s page of its Television guide and it recommends Rush, which is showing on Ten at the same time.
I’m more just confused what the LAC stands for?

Who said anything about acting? And who says I’m not an actor extremely interested in the script quality?
The dialogue in the script in the promos (admittedly all I have seen at the moment – though one would expect the promo to be the ‘shining lights’) seems stilted and lacking. The cast seems to be excellent, production values appear to be high. I sure as hell hope I am wrong about the scripting.

They should consider that these things happen in real life and refering to a car accident where people were killed in a car explosion as a b,b,q, is disturbing.

so you all know it isnt uncommen for cops or any emergancy personel to make comments and refrances like the bbq one as it is a way of distancing ones self from te incedent if everyone were to take on the emotional bagage that would come with not distancing yourself no one would last in the line of work unless they were mentaly disturbed
