Copywriter and doctor team up for new podcast ‘She Wasn’t Born Yesterday’, for women 40+

Freelance senior copywriter Janet Evans has teamed up with Dr Amelia Haines to launch a new podcast, ‘She Wasn’t Born Yesterday’, for women aged 40+.

The announcement:

After co-authoring ‘Empty Next’, Australia’s first book about overcoming empty nest syndrome, Janet Evans freelance senior copywriter and her friend sexual health therapist and relationship counsellor Dr Amelia Haines realised a lot of issues uniquely affect women at this phase of life.

After an interview, including much playful banter, about the book on radio station Hope 103.2, the HopeMedia team suggested they do a podcast.

“And so we did!” says Janet. “Women of this age are underrepresented in the media today, especially social media, and Dr Amelia and I embody not only lived experience and a sense of curiosity but also professional expertise in dealing with the issues affecting us fabulous women 40+.”

“The ideas flowed thick and fast,” says Dr Amelia, “so we knew we were onto a good thing.”

SWBY dives headfirst into topics as diverse as homelessness (women 55+ are the fastest growing group of homeless Australians), pregnancy loss, divorce, women & porn, menopause, and low libido through to true crime obsession and make up tips. Launching on 8 March, International Women’s Day, the podcast is attracting broad attention from both men and women, in the corporate world and beyond.

Says Amelia, “We were incredibly lucky to chat to some very high profile guests, including Kristina Keneally, former NSW Premier, Mark Tedeschi KC, former NSW Senior Crown Prosecutor, and CEOs of major organisations, who shared their expertise with us and our audience.”
