Lowie to host Nova evenings
Craig “Lowie” Lowe has returned to Australia to host Nova’s national evening show.
The former host of the Hot 30 Countdown on Austereo and Lowie Vs America for Southern Cross Media Network will take on the 7pm-10pm slot every weekenight.
The appointment is one of the first moves by DMG’s new program director Paul Jackson.
He said: “We are pleased we could tempt Lowie back to our shores and onto Nova FM. He is a worldclass broadcaster, a great character and loads of fun, and we know listeners can expect the unexpected every night.”
Nova has already announced the Fitzy & Wippa show as its 4-7pm national drivetime show. And the arrival of Lowie will see The Action Battle team moved back to 10pm to midnight.
Interesting.
Lowie was difficult to work for and was eventually sacked by Austereo.
A national syndicated show with no feeling for the city it broadcasts in. Talk stations would never do it. The exact same music for Sydney, Melbourne, Perth…………..suburbless callers.
Breakthrough radio indeed.
Sigh.
