The announcement:

This Wednesday afternoon will see Sydney’s first Agency Open House, organised by Creative Social and Web Directions. Anyone can visit and explore digital creative agencies such as Reactive, Soap, Deepend Group, Digital Arts Network, Reborn, Host & MobeSeek, We Are Social, Pollen, TheFarm, Small Multiples and The Interaction Consortium. People can meet creatives, technologists, producers and strategy minds for a drink and a chat, test prototypes, listen to lectures, explore workplaces and start new relationships.

With the aim to strengthen the digital creative industry, this first Agency Open House is organised by Creative Social, a collective of the world’s most pioneering, interactive creative directors and business owners. As part of the lead up to international digital conference Web Directions 2014, visitors can expect to mingle with other conference attendees and some heavy hitters from Web Directions’ speaker roster that includes renowned hand lettering artist Jessica Hische, long-time Twitter Creative Director Douglas Bowman and Internet of Things entrepreneur Matt Webb.

“We wanted Creative Social to be more visible in Australia’s digital community, so that we could advance our creative agenda together.” says one of the organisers, Reactive’s Creative Director Tim Buesing. “Web Directions allows us to do it in connection with an event of international standing.”

Web Directions co-founder John Allsopp adds “Our event has always been about dialogue between lots of digital and also non-digital disciplines. I am glad Creative Social teamed up with us and is opening up all these top notch agencies for an afternoon.”

All events are free and can be explored and RSVP’d to on the Agency Open House microsite.
