Cummins & Partners nabs Sydney GM of BWM Isobar and DMB for MD role

Independent creative agency Cummins & Partners has selected general manager of dentsu’s BWM Isobar and DMB Sydney offices, Sophie Lander, to take up the role of managing director for the agency’s Sydney office.

The news follows yesterday’s appointment of former adam&eveDDB managing partner Michael McConville, who was appointed as global CEO of Cummins & Partners, returning to Australia after a nine-year stint in the UK.

Sophie Lander departs dentsu after three years heading up their Sydney office of BWM Isobar and DMB, where she had also previously held the role of client services director, contributing significantly the the agencies growth.

Of her appointment, Lander said: “I’m incredibly proud to be named Managing Director of the Sydney office and I have been given a blank sheet to go crazy, get growth and do great work.”

“Both Michael and Sean (Cummins) have been integral in my decision to leave and my time with Rob Belgiovane, Paul Williams and Jamie Mackay has given me the best experience working with passionate founders and leaders” Lander added.

Cummins & Partners founder and CEO Sean Cummins said: “I can’t believe how lucky we are to attract such wonderful talent and great leadership. Sophie has an amazing reputation for running FMCG accounts and also financial brand. That’s quite a spectrum and shows her diverse abilities.”
