D&AD unveils awards judging line-up with Jonathan Kneebone to head film advertising jury

The Glue Society’s Jonathan Kneebone is set to lead the Film Advertising Crafts jury at D&AD Awards judging next year, with ten other Australian judges also set to take part in the process for the creative advertising awards.

Kneebone joins the likes of Rei Inamoto, chief creative officer at AKQA, Eric Kallman, ECD at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners and PJ Pereira, chief creative officer at Pereira & O’Dell in leading panels at this year’s judging.

The Australian representatives on juries include Clemenger BBDO Melbourne ECD Ant Keogh, Finch founder Rob Galluzzo, Droga5 ECD Steve Coll, Ben Welsh ECD at M&C Saatchi and Justin Drape co-founder of The Monkeys.For the first time the awards, based in the UK, Branded Film Content & Entertainment will be included amongst the 25 categories, with several new sub categories also added to various awards.

Last year Australia won 37 awards including a Black Pencil for Innovation in Digital Design for Finch/Havas Worldwide’s ‘The Most Powerful Arm’.

Tim Lindsay, Chief Executive at D&AD, commented, “The role of creativity and the value of design in our society has never been greater. Whether as vehicle for social change, enriching quality of life or finding the means to do well by doing good, we’ve seen some truly impressive innovation from across the advertising and design industries in recent years as boundaries are pushed and limits tested.

“After a remarkable 2014, we’re all looking forward to seeing what 2015 brings in the field of creative excellence.”

Work released between January 1 2014 and February 28 2015 which has not been entered before is eligible for the awards, while an earlybird discount of 10 per cent applies to work submitted before November 20.
