‘Dad where do babies come from?’: Ford Everest will make you ready to handle any situation
Ford’s latest ad shows that the features of its new Everest Sport, will make you ready for anything, even life’s biggest question.
The ad sees a family settle into their car to go on an outdoor adventure when a young boy looks to his baby brother and asks “Dad, where do babies come from?”
Rather than fumble through an answer, the father is prepared enough to handle the situation and explains the process in scientific detail.
The campaign was created by BBDO Australia. In October 2018, Ford appointed the BBDO network to its global creative account.
Daniella Winter, Ford Australia GM of marketing, said in a statement: “The Ford Everest Sport is the ultimate family vehicle, designed to withstand everything that the Australian landscape has to throw at it, as well as providing a comfortable ride to handle other…situations.”
The campaign will run throughout summer.
In October, BBDO Australia launched its first work for the brand, showing wannabe Ford Ranger drivers looking on at the vehicles in envy as they are bogged or stranded in remote locations.
Great TV spot BBDO! This made me laugh!

Hi TK,
If you’re referring to the NRMA Christmas ad, Zoe’s story can be found here – https://mumbrella.com.au/nrma-reminds-drivers-to-protect-whats-precious-this-christmas-with-pavlova-filled-campaign-608822
Thanks,
Hannah – Mumbrella
Actually it will make your family life better, it is so so quiet. You can easy hear you back seat passengers – is that a good thing?? Much more quieter than many other vehicles.

Are we overlooking the fact that this is ambushing families in early evening who haven’t had the full talk yet? Thanks for taking the lead, ford… Just because a number of modern parents were probably conceived in the back of your vehicle’s doesn’t mean you’re the ones to decide when we need to have “the talk” with our kids. Especially not to garner attention for your road hogging urban tanks.

Fantastic add I love watching the look on the kids face whe asked (any questions ? )also it’s great to see an add not making fun ( mocking) of white males especialy fathers. And WOW not having a bi,racial couple in the add how Brave in this day in age!! The add really connected with me hitting all the right notes, love fords Everest it’s on my Xmas list this year well done Ford plus the advertising agency!!

Worst Ford ad, would I buy an Everest having seen this….. NEVER!!
How Ford could allow this “rubbish” to be aired is beyond comprehension. It treats the viewers as “neandrathals”, it is tasteless. Needs to be deleted ASAP ??

The Ad is overplayed to such a level that I now hate it, and change channels when it comes up, sometimes twice in one ad-break. Pathetic.

Agree Hey-You, Paul, Tom and Anonymous. I now try to switch channels the moment I hear, “Dad? Where do…”
Btw, haven’t people noticed how pretty much throughout the commercial, the mum looked so totally AMAZED by how her husband knew where babies came from?

I agree with Paul and Hey You. The ad is aired so much, that I mute it the instant I see the Ford Everest Sport. And I will never ever buy one ! How would a kid of that age understand all the details of the uterine wall etc.. As Tom says, “what a load of sh1t” So stick to what the vehicle is all about etc……
