Dating app Hinge launches new podcast, Dating Sucks

Dating app Hinge has launched a new podcast, Dating Sucks, with the first episode out today.

The announcement:

What: Dating Sucks is a new podcast that will dive into discussions about a variety of dating pain points that the Hinge community experiences.

Who: The hosts Ilana Dunn (Hinge’s content producer) and Jonah Feingold (a writer and director of romantic comedies), will provide their own perspectives, use insights from users, and bring in unique subject matter experts to help members be the most informed daters.

When: The first episode will launch on Tuesday 14 April 2020, with episodes released weekly thereafter. There will be 12 episodes in total.

Why: When recently surveying 7,000 Hinge users, 94% of respondents shared that dating is overwhelming so Hinge looked into what users find the most overwhelming part of dating. More than 1,000 responses were broken into the top 12 woes and each episode tackles a new one, with expert commentary.

The overall goal is to come to conclusions and action items on how users can make things less overwhelming and ultimately set them up for success, eventually deleting their Hinge app.

“At Hinge, it’s important for us to have an ongoing conversation with our community about their dating challenges. On ‘Dating Sucks’, our users share their dating issues with us, and we discuss how to resolve them. We’re excited for Ilana, Jonah —our co-hosts who met on Hinge—and our guests to give listeners the fresh perspective that they’ve been waiting for,” says Hinge CMO Nathan Roth
