Dave Walker joins Prime Media Group
Prime Media Group has drafted TVNZ’s Dave Walker into the role of National Sales Manager for Seven Affiliate Sales.

Prime Media Group today announced the appointment of Dave Walker as National Sales Manager, Seven Affiliate Sales.
Walker joins Prime from Television New Zealand, where he has been head of advertising sales since 2007. Before that, he spent five years as TVNZ’s head of television sales and held
senior agency roles at OMD and Clemenger Group companies.
He succeeds Ross Howarth who, as Prime announced in July, has taken on the new role of General Manager, Commercial Operations after 12 successful years heading Prime’s sales force.
Prime Media Group CEO Ian Audsley said: “Dave brings extensive understanding of the Australian and New Zealand advertising landscape. He is exceptionally qualified to manage and drive the performance of our national television sales operation.”
Prime Television CEO Doug Edwards said: “Dave’s track record in building and leading high-calibre media sales teams is well established, with TVNZ’s television market revenue share at a three-year high in 2009/10. His strong television sales and agency experience makes him the ideal person to take the helm of Seven Affiliate Sales.”
Walker said: “It is an exciting time to join Seven Affiliate Sales with the organisation poised for further market share and yield growth. I look forward to deploying my leadership and sales development experience to help the team achieve new levels of excellence in client service and, accordingly, revenue outcomes.”
Walker’s diverse client-side and media sales experience continues Prime’s tradition of looking beyond traditional sales recruitment sources to secure an experienced executive to head up its sales division.
Before joining TVNZ in 2002, Walker was Group Business Director for OMD Sydney where he managed the McDonald’s Australia media account. Earlier in his career he was Deputy Media Director for Colenso Communications Auckland (part of the Clemenger Group) for six years.
Walker will report to Doug Edwards and takes up his new role on Monday, September 27.
