Aegis Media Pacific appoints David Fish, MD of Activations division

Aegis Media Pacific has appointed David Fish as Managing Director of its Activations division, comprising multinational and award-winning promotional marketing agency Apollo, field marketing specialists Synergy and experiential and brand activation agency Impact.

David has spent more than 15 years working in experiential and brand marketing. He has previously worked for below-the-line specialist agencies in the UK, including iD and Mango where he led the development of experiential campaigns across an extensive array of clients, including Nike, Diageo, GSK, Microsoft, Nestle and ING Direct.

He joins Aegis from Southern Cross Austereo, where he has spent the past four years as part of the senior executive team as National Strategy Director. Leading the strategy teams across Australia, David worked across major campaigns for Southern Cross Austereo clients nationally, including management of consumer insights and research.

Luke Littlefield, CEO of Aegis Media Pacific, said: “It’s fantastic to welcome David to Aegis Media. His experience across multi-platform campaigns will be extremely relevant to his role with Aegis Media, as marketers increasingly look to include experiential activity as part of the way they connect with their customers. In addition to his exceptional credentials, he’s a great cultural fit and a strong addition to our executive team.”

David Fish said: “I’m delighted to have the opportunity to join Aegis and work with the teams at Apollo, Synergy and Impact. The culture within each of these businesses strongly promotes a dynamic and creative outlook, the client base and the work delivered by these teams is evidence of this. I’m looking forward to getting started.”

David starts with Aegis Media Pacific on 9 January 2012 and joins Aegis following the resignation of Will Riley, who will take a career break to spend time with his family over the next year.

“Will has been part of the Aegis Media team for four years and we’re sorry to farewell him. He has been a leading force in the promotional marketing industry since he founded Apollo in 1997 and our Activations division has performed well under Will’s direction. I hope that we’ll be welcoming him back to the Aegis group one day,” said Luke.

Apollo has grown consistently for 15 years under Will’s management, expanding from Auckland to have offices in Sydney and Melbourne. Apollo has been the most awarded promotional marketing agency in Australia and New Zealand since 2008.

Will said: “After 15 years of hard work, firstly founding and building Apollo and more recently with Aegis, it’s time for me to have a break. I’m looking forward to spending time with my family, travelling, getting fit, learning to play guitar, and all the other things I’ve always want to do but never had the time for. David is a valuable addition to the team and I wish him and everyone at Aegis every future success.”
