David Gyngell quits Nine after eight years as CEO to be replaced by Hugh Marks

Nine Entertainment Co’s talismanic CEO David Gyngell has stepped down from the company to be replaced by director Hugh Marks.

Gyngell: departing Nine after eight years

Gyngell, who has led Nine since 2007 and helped rebuild and re-list the broadcaster on the ASX will remain on the board of Nine, but Marks will take the CEO’s role immediately.

“Personally, I am sad to see David stepping down from his active management role, however I am delighted he will be continuing his long association with Nine as a non-Executive director,” said Nine chairman David Haslingden in the ASX announcement.
