DDB Sydney launches new McDonald’s ad for AFL finals

As a major sponsor of the AFL and AFLW, McDonald’s has launched a new campaign building on its ‘Footy, I’m Lovin It’ platform, via DDB Sydney.

Whether you’re a fan, commentator, player or coach, Macca’s is the place to be before or after footy games, according to the new spot.

The campaign features the voice of sports broadcaster Hamish McLachlan, as well as some of the biggest names in footy – Ellie Blackburn, Marcus Bontempelli, Tom Papley, Charlie Curnow, Georgia Gee and more. It also shows coach Brad Scott.

Amanda Nakad, marketing director at McDonald’s, said: “At Macca’s, we love being part of people’s footy rituals.

“No matter whether you win or lose, we’ll always be there for a pre or post-game feed.”

DDB Sydney’s group creative partner, Cam Hoelter, added: “Footy has fun truths, so has Macca’s – and creatively it’s always nice when you can mash two worlds together.”

The spot is airing throughout the AFL and AFLW finals seasons, leveraging the brand’s partnership with the sport.
