Dear Santa: Thanks for the link love

mumbrella-smallIn the short time since it has launched, Mumbrella’s been delighted with – and grateful for –  the support from the online and media community. From Julian Cole at AdSpace Pioneers came:

“Australian Marketing Blogs just took a giant step forward with the recently departed Managing Editor of B&T Tim Burrowes starting the blog, Mumbrella. The site is in BETA and will launch in February, but it looks like it will be vying as a serious online industry news source up there with Campaign Brief and Marketing Mag, AdNews and B&T daily newsletters.

There were also positive words from James Duthie at Online Marketing Banter:

“Just a really short post today to give a shout out to an ambitious new Australian marketing blog – Mumbrella. The site takes a Tech Crunch /Tech Meme format, but is dedicated solely to the Australian media market (both online & offline). The content is first class and even a little controversial at times. Some of Australia’s most recognised bloggers are already beginning to congregate there, so if you’re an Aussie marketer get over there and support the project!

And Mark Pollard said:

Yes yes yes! Finally. For so long, I haven’t been able to believe that what you’re attempting to do here hasn’t been done. Intra day updates, (hopefully) less establishment agenda articles, long/short or whatever’s required (not about print templates – but about information, quickly).  And the reason you’ve been able to do it is because you don’t have a business model… yet 🙂 The local print mags are still attached to an old business model. Either way, good luck! Keep it quality!

Press Gazette, the British-based magazine and website covering journalism, has also this week written about the Mumbrella launch, as has the Sydney-based Digital Media magazine.

And Media Hunter, run by Craig Wilson of Newcastle’s Sticky Advertisng welcomed Mumbrella as “clean and easy to read”. He suggested: “Add it to your favourites.”

Thanks to everyone for your early support – and please do continue to give us feedback ahead of our official launch early next year.

(Update:  Thanks to Bannerblog , Marketingeasy and Across the Mediaverse for your kind words too)
