Postmodern acquired by Deluxe subsidiary CIS

CIS Visual Effects Group – a division of Deluxe – has acquired Sydney post and VFX house Postmodern.

The company will continue to operate under its current name and independently from Deluxe Australia, reporting directly to CIS president Don Fly.

Postmodern has done work on the features Death Defying Acts, Australia, Knowing and Daybreakers, and numerous TVCs and short films.

Managing director Andrew Robinson said the company had been looking for a strong partner, with creative and technical credentials, and world recognition. He anticipates bringing CIS technologies and capabilities, from their Los Angeles and Vancouver offices, into Postmodern’s pipeline.

Producer Josie King told Encore that no jobs will be lost at the moment. Activities will continue as usual at Postmodern’s Kent St location, but the new owner plans on building a new facility in Sydney to expand the company’s operation.
