Digital douchebags and a lesson in when not to cc everybody
This is the reason Dr Mumbo loves group emails. Remember Simon Van Wyk’s much dicussed Mumbrella guest posting on what’s wrong with the digital agency scene? It seems to have generated quite a reaction from the Creative Social group which consists of local digital creatives, if the correspondence that has fallen into Dr Mumbo’s hands is anything to go by. Subject: Creative Social Next Tuesday 1st of September
Hi all,
Yes, it’s that time again, next week is the First Tuesday of the month, and so time for Creative Social.
This month Mike Crebar and the guys at PUSHER have very kindly offered to host it.
So if you’re keen to see the most recent leading edge work being done by global agencies, see where Creative Social is going, or just catch up with Daniele, RSVP to Marion and myself now!
Cheers
Mike

Gotta go to this. Should be loads of fun!
haha thanks for posting Tim, I’ve sorted this out with Simon post this. He’ll be attending one of the Creative Socials at least once at some time.
Comment still stands though. You can’t post a rant that is meant to represent our industry and not speak to that industry about it 🙂
Must check that group email address, i can’t remember adding Tim onto it 🙂
All looks a little silly to me
Those last two comments would have been mildly amusing without emoticons. Smiley faces at the end of any sentence are the social media equivalent of canned-laughter in a sitcom… I can feel myself boiling over…
haha, hilarious.
Hey Tim, why can’t you post comments on Simon’s original post?
You’d think that people who work in this industry would be a little more adept with their digital communication skills.
Hi Simon,
Comments close on old postings after (I think) 45 or maybe 60 days.
Cheers,
Tim
This has made my Friday. Thanks guys.
Watched the conversation unfold yesterday with much amusement.
Ash – hopefully you’ve extracted the foot out of your mouth..
Mike – the VJ lads and I have had a chat about starting up a Creative Social in Melbourne town. Will drop you a non-group email about it..
Is this “douchegate” ?
Mumbrella is fast becoming my favourite place to come for amusing industry content….
We definitely need badges made for Tuesday’s social now, saying-
FELLOW DOUCHEBAG
I like smiley faces – sitcom laughter or not – It’s anonymous postings where people only post their first names with no links to themselves that make ME boil over… 🙂
Bugger the parade. It’s exhausting just thinking about a roomful of consensus seekers hunting the like-minded. Booorrrring. Let’s get back to the main game of ragging ad agencies.
Maybe not the day to have a go at B&T for spelling…
“Remember Simon Van Wyk’s much dicussed …”
Heather wins.
Where does one get douche-shoes to go with the douche-bag for the next soiree?
Is this Myspace or something?
Ash what makes you think that if someone doesn’t attend an event you are involved with that they aren’t engaging with the industry? Get your head out of your arse and realise how many events for the industry there are each month. Back to the mac screen ash til the social skills are up to par, and bravo to simon for not biting back.
Ash on a mac?!? Maybe in 2001. He changed his OS years ago but he still causes a stir on the emails. This is classic Ringrose – never a dull moment at soap and that’s how we like it.
And here I was thinking I was going to get into trouble for one of those “anonymous postings where people only post their first names with no links to themselves”. Those people really do have no idea.
Bla bla bla who cares.
Your all a bunch of hypocritical douchebags who dont have the balls to say what you all really think of each other. End.
im 12 years and wat is this?
