Disney pitches $26m media account, with Carat on alert
Global entertainment brand Disney is thought to be pitching its $26.1m media account with incumbent Carat on alert, Mumbrella understands.
At this stage it is unclear which agencies will be invited to pitch but it is thought that as many as seven agencies could be involved.
The news comes just a week after Disney chief marketing officer Kylie Watson-Wheeler announced she was moving to a new role in the business, with the pitch thought to cover Disney’s movie division, theme parks, publishing, merchandising and TV Channels such as Disney Channel and ESPN.
Comment is currently being sought from The Walt Disney Company.
It is not clear whether Disney’s theatre productions, which are currently held by independent media agency Slingshot, are included in the pitch.
All agencies contacted declined to comment.
According to Nielsen, The Walt Disney Company had an estimated media spend of $26.1m in the 12 months until December 2014.
