Doctor Who franchise director to headline Mumbrella Entertainment Marketing Summit, plus ABC to discuss reinvention
Sally de st Croix, global franchise director of Doctor Who at BBC Studios in London, will headline the Mumbrella Entertainment Marketing Summit in November.
De st Criox is responsible for facilitating the growth of Doctor Who at a pivotal moment in the iconic series’ history, with the announcement of the first female Doctor, played by Jodie Whittaker.
She’ll explain how a new cast, creative team and tone has allowed the BBC to take a fresh look at its marketing campaigns, brand partnerships and licensing deals.
The Mumbrella Entertainment Marketing Summit takes place on November 22 in Sydney with tickets on sale now at early bird prices.
Also confirmed is a session on the reinvention of the ABC with Leisa Bacon, director of audiences. After a week that saw the departure of the ABC’s managing director, Michelle Guthrie, the public broadcaster’s reinvention has rarely been more talked about.
In the session, Bacon will delve into how the organisation is adapting the audience experience to meet future needs and how this impacts on brand, product and marketing, to ensure the success of Australia’s public broadcaster for future generations.
Meanwhile, a panel on fanfare and the super fan featuring Microsoft and Pulse Communications has also been confirmed.
In the session, entertainment brands and agencies that have created campaigns putting their fans at the core will discuss the reasons behind the strategy, the work they have executed and the results that followed.
Microsoft’s consumer integrated marketing manager, Natasha Brack, and Pulse Communication’s managing director, Jacqui Abbott, are the first to be confirmed on the panel.
The Mumbrella Entertainment Marketing Summit takes place at The Star in Sydney on November 22. Early bird tickets are available here.
