Herd, which was acquired last year by Publicis, includes Fuel Communications, N2N Communications and Touch Creative.

Carnew was appointed Haystac’s national GM in 2016 having previously served at Havas, Saatchi & Saatchi and BMF.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to join the talented team at Fuel,” Carnew said.

“Now more than ever, clients require creative earned campaigns that deliver real business results in order to remain competitive. Fuel and Herd MSL, has invested heavily in growing the teams’ capabilities and expertise to ensure they can deliver this kind of work in every channel. I look forward to working with such an ambitious team to build on what they have already achieved.”

Tom Sanders joins Herd MSL into the newly created role of group creative director following 18 years’ specialist creative experience in the UK and Australian markets. He previously held the role of strategy and creative director at Play Communications for over four years.

Herd MSL CEO Vanessa Liell said: “We are delighted to welcome Jason and Tom to our group. We continue to experience strong growth and diversification through our work with global and local brands.

“The appointment of Tom and Jason significantly strengthens our creative and integrated strategic communication offering so we can continue to deliver impactful and engaging work for our clients. It also creates new opportunities for our bright and ambitious team to learn from individuals with such outstanding experience.”

Along with the promotion of Wragg, who was previously lead of Fuel Communications, the group has also appointed Laura Beament as Fuel Communications’ general manager. Previously Beament was group account manager having joined the agency from Weber Shandwick in October 2016.

Discussing the moves, Liell said: “Tom and Jason’s appointments and promotions of Stuart and Laura reflect the success and strength of Herd MSL and our long-standing goal to attract and retain the very best in talent and clients.

“As a wider agency group, we’ve had fabulous 2018 and are incredibly excited about the opportunities ahead of us in 2019.”
