Dove to sponsor How To Look Good Naked
Unilever’s Dove brand is sponsoring the upcoming series of How To Look Good Naked, to run on FoxTel’s Lifestyle You.
The show, which is hosted by British fashion expert Gok Wan, is billed as the program that ‘shows you how to look fantastic with your clothes on or off, no matter what your body shape’.
As such, the show lines up with the Unilever soap brand’s ‘Campaign for real beauty’, which celebrates women of all shapes and sizes.
The news was confirmed by Unilever’s media director Michelle Katz.
Gok Wan a comedian? He’s certainly got a sense of humour but I think ‘comedian’ is a bit of a stretch.

Also, I’m unclear….is this an original production of an Australian version of the show or is Dove just sponsoring the broadcast of the UK version on Foxtel? If it’s the latter, its not much of a news piece really.

Is Gok Wan a comedian?

Actually Gok isn’t a comedian, he’s always been a fashionista.

Hi Anon_coward and Beau,
You are quite correct. Now amended. I’m deeply ashamed of my British colleague Robin who should know his camp UK reality telly stars a little better…
Cheers,

That’s cool, at least you didn’t say Julian Clarey was a fashion expert.

I think this is a really good example of well-placed TV programme sponsorship, for the Dove brand it could be a useful way of maintaining or building presence and tapping into the shared values model of successful programme sponsorship. The programme and the brand clearly have similar or (desired) values. Will be interesting to see if this sponsorship does a good job at reinforces the Dove brands existing values.
