Geofiltering the Tribe
A social media campaign is not millennial-legitimate without a Snapchat geofilter, right?
At least that’s the theory micro-influencer marketplace Tribe ran with for its own social campaign on Friday, placing filters over 13 locations and several of Australia’s biggest media agencies, and challenging them to be creative with it for the chance to win a prize.
It used captions including “I’m only here because my CMO says ‘all the kids’ are”, “no idea if this is a lens or a filter” and “can I add snap ninja to my LinkedIn profile yet?” – probably uncomfortably close to home for some agency folk trying to keep up with the youth.
Staff from agencies including Carat, Dentsu Mitchell, Vizeum, Columbus, Noisy Beast, Maxus, OMD, Group M, Columbus, Starcom/Vizium, PHD and MEC/Mediacom screenshot their efforts and sent them in for the chance to win a $200 restaurant voucher.
But, as with all good competitions there can only be one winner, and that was selected as Nicole Voss, a business coordinator at Dentsu Mitchell in Melbourne.
