DR MUMBO: Perhaps not
The award for the best use of the word “perhaps” in a correction goes to today’s Daily Telegraph. The Sydney paper reports:
“An item in Confidential yesterday on the budding romance between Elle Macpherson and British casino operator Damian Aspinall mistakenly stated that Aspinall had once worked in media in Australia. The Australian media executive is, in fact, David Aspinall, former Seven Network chief operating officer. An associate of David contacted us yesterday to assure us he remains happily married: ‘No matter how much respect he has for Elle Macpherson she isn’t on his radar, nor perhaps he hers.'”
No, perhaps not.
