Dymocks launches first TVC in 8 years for Christmas

Retail chain Dymocks has released its first television campaign in eight years via production company Walrus Films.

The most recent television campaign from Dymocks was launched in 2013, and featured Dymocks staff, which was made by Creative Oasis. The new campaign features Dymocks’ employee Janelle Fyson in Toowoomba.

In the 30-second spot, a Dymocks worker is shown to hand deliver a Christmas present to someone called “Jack”, ending with the line: “Shop your locally owned store”.

Dymocks’ marketing & loyalty manager Gail McWhinnie said: “Dymocks is Australia’s oldest bookstore with stores all over Australia. During lockdown we saw some wonderful community spirit which highlighted how important books, puzzles and activities were to people. Our tv ad is a celebration of this community spirit that encompasses the Dymocks culture.”

The campaign launched on free to air and pay TV from yesterday, 21 November.
