eBay appoints Mediacom to global media account
eBay has consolidated its global media account with WPP’s Mediacom.
Globally, the online retailing giant had been working with both Mediacom and Publicis Media, however at the time of the review, a spokesperson told Mumbrella that consolidating its media agency partners would allow the brand to streamline its marketing approach around the world.
Under this new approach, the brand has moved its US$250m account under just Mediacom.
“eBay’s regional marketing teams are working together more closely than ever, and consolidating our media business will help us operate more quickly and efficiently as a global organisation,” an eBay spokesperson told Mumbrella. “Mediacom has a long history with eBay, and we look forward to continuing our work with them around the world.”
Locally, eBay appointed Amex’s Julie Nestor as its chief marketing officer last year, after Tim MacKinnon became managing director for the brand in Australia and New Zealand.
And earlier this year, eBay shook up its creative roster, adding CHE Proximity to its list of partners as it looked to increase the focus on communicating its value proposition.
Mediacom Australia has been approached for comment.
