eBay promotes Tim MacKinnon to Australia and New Zealand MD position

Online marketplace eBay has promoted Tim Mackinnon from CMO to managing director for Australia and New Zealand.

MacKinnon has been with eBay since 2011

Mackinnon joined eBay as head of merchant solutions in 2011. As CMO, he was involved in the creation of the recent ‘Fill Your Cart with Colour” campaign, which was also the first work from Sydney agency 72andSunny.

The news comes following the appointment of Jooman Park to senior vice president APAC last month.

Park said of Mackinnon’s appointment: “Tim has a fantastic track record within the eBay Australia & New Zealand business having lead both the seller and marketing teams during his six-and-a-half year tenure in the Sydney office.

“Tim is well-known to the Australian eBay seller community and is well-respected by them for his deep ecommerce insight and partnership.

“When I moved to Sydney four years ago, I set out to help define a new Australian retail landscape by successfully partnering with businesses and establishing online retail standards.

“I am delighted with the progress the team has made and I know that Tim is the right leader to help guide the business as the ecommerce landscape in Australia continues to evolve.”

Mackinnon added: “The Australian ecommerce industry is entering a new, exciting period for businesses and consumers alike.

“eBay has been here since the earliest days helping to pioneer the industry, supporting Australian businesses to seize opportunities and providing consumers with great deals.”
