Eels vs Storm tops 2022 NRL launch on Nine with 455k metro viewers
Launching the NRL season last night, the Parramatta Eels and Melbourne Storm topped entertainment with 455,000 metro viewers, a rise on last year’s opener.
The game also topped the key advertising demos of 16-39s and 18-49s, but Ten’s Gogglebox topped the 25-54s. The latter also pulled in 416,000 metro viewers.
The first game between Penrith Panthers and Manly Warringah Sea Eagles at the beginning of the 2022 season aired to 426,000 metro viewers.
Seven’s Home and Away came next in entertainment with 450,000 metro viewers, followed by The Chase Australia with 439,000 metro audience.
On Thursday, the #1 program was Seven News with 811,000 metro viewers, followed by Seven News at 6:30 with 806,000, Nine News at 6:30 with 692,000 and Nine News with 688,000.
Nine network won the night with a 29.6% overall share, followed by Seven with 26.1%, Ten with 18.8% and ABC with 16.9%.
The top-rated channel on Thuesday was Nine with a 22.3% share, but the top-rated multi channel was 7Two with 3.9% share.
In the latest Daily Consolidated 7 Total TV Report for 23 February, Seven News at 6:30 was the #1 program nationally with 1.322 million Total TV viewers, including 37,000 on BVOD and an uplift of 3%.
However, Gogglebox on Ten had the biggest uplift of 32%, with 856,000 total TV audience and 31,000 on national BVOD.
