Elaine Quirke appointed Wavemaker’s partnerships and creative media group director

Wavemaker Australia has appointed Elaine Quirke to the newly-created role of group director, partnerships and creative media, eight months after being appointed the agency’s creative strategy director.

Formerly business and strategy lead at Starcom MediaVest for two years, Quirke has also been the Wall Street Journal’s UK-based luxury and media director.

Wavemaker Australia and New Zealand CEO Peter Vogel said about Quirke’s appointment: “With Wavemaker’s focus on media, content and technology, it’s important to continue to foster our relationships with media partners and strengthen our creative expertise. Elaine is an exceptional talent and her unique experience on publisher side, marketing and media agencies makes her the perfect person for this role.”

Quirke added: “I am excited to step into this new role and work with Wavemaker’s diverse and talented teams to create meaningful ideas, stories and content that help brands stand out. By working closely with our media partners, my objective is to leverage creativity and innovative technology to deliver great work for out clients.”

Currently reporting to Wavemaker’s chief growth and product officer James Hier, Quirke will now report to national head of content and partnerships, Shivani Maharaj, when she returns from maternity leave.

Wavemaker’s Australian operation opened last November, following the merger of MEC and Maxus by WPP-owned Group M.
