Opr appoints Jacquie Potter as chief growth officer in management restructure
PR agency Opr, the former Australian arm of Ogilvy, has announced a new management structure including appointing Melbourne MD Jacquie Potter as chief growth officer along with a slew of managing partners for its specialist business practices.
The agency renamed from Ogilvy PR in June, as the local operations split and dropped out of the Ogilvy Worldwide network following a global restructure of the WPP-owned agency.
Potter was appointed Melbourne MD in June, having joined Ogilvy in 2017 after 13 years with fellow WPP agency Howorth Communications.
In addition to appointing Potter, Opr has appointed seven staff to the newly-created role of managing partner across the agency’s key practices.
The managing partners are:
- Beck Crawford, managing partner, Melbourne
- Fiona Forbes and Nino Tesoriero, managing partner, Corporate
- Marie-Claire Maple, managing partner, Business to Business
- Megan Caulfield, managing partner, Employee Experience
- Rachel Stanton, managing partner, Behavioural Change and Life Agency
- Tania Jayesuria, managing partner, Health
Each managing partner will report to one of Opr’s three managing directors – Graham White, Jacqui Abbott and Leon Beswick.
Chief executive officer at Opr, Richard Brett, said: “We have had a strong year in 2018 delivering double digit growth and delivering on our plan to be the number one agency in Australia. As we head into 2019, our goal is to keep growing. To do this, the new roles and responsibilities we’ve announced today ensure Opr is well placed to deliver on its business plan as we move into a new financial year and beyond.”
“I am thrilled Jacquie has taken on the role of chief growth officer to help us achieve ongoing business success. She has done an amazing job delivering high growth in Melbourne and an outstanding role leading American Express. Using Jacquie’s strategic and analytical skills I am excited about the opportunities this new role will bring to Opr and our clients.
“In addition, we have created the new role of managing partner, which gives the individuals more management responsibility for a speciality practice. Their remit is to work intimately with their leadership team, with the simple goal of collectively creating the best work for their clients.”
On Tuesday, Opr’s parent company WPP AUNZ saw its shares slump 35% after the resignation of long standing CEO Mike Connaghan and a downgraded profit forecast partly blamed on reduced client spending.
One CEO, 3 MDs (presumably one per office?), one chief growth officer, 7 managing partners, and their site also lists an ECD, a CFO (also the COO), and a Chief Influence Officer…
