Emily Taylor appointed editor of Pacific Magazines’ Instyle Australia

Pacific Magazines has appointed Emily Taylor to be the editor of InStyle Australia.

Taylor replaces Kirsten Galliott who recently moved to custom publisher Medium Rare to edit Qantas’ print and digital publications.

“I am pleased to announce that Emily will re-join Pacific Magazines to lead InStyle,” said Jackie Frank group publisher fashion and health. “With her exhaustive knowledge of the fashion and beauty industry in the local market, combined with her international experience, Emily is the ideal candidate for the role of editor.”

Taylor returns to Pacific Magazines from London, where she has worked extensively in print, digital and social media on some of the UK’s leading fashion, beauty and lifestyle retail brands including John Lewis, Marks & Spencer, and Net-A-Porter.

She has previously worked at Pacific Magazines career in the role of beauty editor for Marie Claire before being promoted first to beauty director, and then eventually to associate editor across the magazine, before her departure in 2012.

“I had the pleasure of working with Emily on Marie Claire Australia for many years and I’m thrilled that we have been able to bring her back from the UK,” said Frank continued. “Her unique experience across print and digital platforms, along with her passion for the industry, will continue to drive the success of the InStyle brand in Australia.”

She takes up the role effective May 4. Instyle Australia has year-on-year 9.4 per cent in the circulation of the magazine with the audit bureau reporting 48,151 copies sold.
